1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Suchat (“Suchat”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our mobile application (the “App”) and related features (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into—and governed by—our Terms of Use.

By installing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services and delete your account.

What Suchat does: one-to-one real-time messaging (text, voice messages, images, videos) and one-to-one video calls. No live streaming or public broadcasts.

Sign-in methods: Google Sign-In or Guest (limited features). No SMS sign-up.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.

2.1 Account & Registration Data

Google Sign-In. When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account details you permit Google to share (e.g., name, email address, profile photo, Google user ID token).

Guest Mode. We generate a random identifier and may associate it with device information for security and sync.

Profile Data (optional). You may add a bio, interests, and upload a profile photo/video. Providing this is voluntary but helps others recognize you.

2.2 Communications & User Content

User Content. Messages (text, images, videos), voice notes, and video calls you send/receive. We process this to deliver the Services, combat abuse, and comply with law.

• Messaging: We deliver your messages; limited automated and/or manual tools may scan or analyze content for malware, spam, or policy violations (e.g., child safety).
• Video Calls: Real-time transport is used; we do not record calls unless we clearly notify you and obtain consent where required.
• Metadata: We collect message/call metadata (e.g., sender/recipient IDs, timestamps, call duration) to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services. We do not use message content for ads.

2.3 Device, Log, and Diagnostic Data

Device Info. Device model, OS version, app version, language, timezone, device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID where permitted), and network info.

Logs & Diagnostics. IP address, performance and crash logs, error codes, referrer/redirected URLs, in-app actions, and basic analytics (e.g., feature usage). We use this to keep the Services reliable and secure.

2.4 Location Information

Approximate location (e.g., country/city inferred from IP) for fraud prevention, legal compliance, language defaults, and service quality.

We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission for a feature that needs it (none by default).

2.5 Payments & Purchases

Google Play Billing. If you buy subscriptions or in-app items, Google (not Suchat) processes your payment. We may receive limited transaction details (e.g., product, purchase time, status) to fulfill entitlements and handle support.

2.6 Cookies & Similar Technologies (Website Only)

If you visit our website (if/when available), we may use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and security. You can control cookies via your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

2.7 Children

The Services are not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 18. If we learn that a user under 18 has provided personal data, we will delete it.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the Services (account creation, login, delivering messages and calls, syncing, purchases, customer support).
• Maintain safety, integrity, and security (detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, spam, malware, illegal content, or violations of our Terms or laws).
• Improve and personalize the Services (performance, features, language defaults, troubleshooting, analytics).
• Communicate with you (service announcements, transactional messages, policy updates).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK where applicable)

Where required by law, we process personal data under these bases: Contract (provide the Services you request); Legitimate interests (security, anti-fraud, service improvement, analytics, customer support); Consent (where required—e.g., certain marketing, optional features); Legal obligations (respond to lawful requests, tax/accounting, compliance); Vital/Public interests where applicable.

5. How We Share Information

• Service Providers / Processors. Hosting, storage, security, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, communications, and payment entitlements (e.g., cloud hosting, Google Play). They act under contracts and can only use data to provide services to us.
• Affiliates. Where applicable, for service provision, security, and support (subject to this Policy).
• Legal & Safety. To comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect rights, safety, and security, or respond to lawful requests from authorities.
• Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale.
• With Your Direction/Consent. For example, when you share content with other users.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

6. Your Choices & Rights

6.1 Controls in the App

• Edit Profile (change or remove your bio, photo/video, interests).
• Manage Communications (mute, block, or report users; control notifications).
• Delete Account (removes your account and scheduled deletion of associated personal data, subject to legal retention).

6.2 Rights under Applicable Law

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or port your data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

EEA/UK. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA). You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out of certain sharing/sale (we do not sell personal information).

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Messages & Content. Stored as needed to deliver the Services and for safety/compliance; deleting content in-app will stop future use but may not remove copies already shared with other users.

Diagnostics/Logs. Retained for a limited time for security and reliability (typical short cycles unless required longer).

When no longer needed, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, least-privilege, vulnerability management) designed to protect your information. No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for keeping your device and account safe (e.g., protect your Google account).

9. International Transfers

We may process and store information in countries outside your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses). By using the Services, you understand your data may be transferred internationally as permitted by law.

10. Direct Marketing & Notifications

We may send you service and transactional messages (e.g., receipts, policy updates). Marketing messages (if any) are sent in accordance with applicable law and your preferences. You can opt out of marketing by using the in-app controls or contacting us at abhijeet198771@gmail.com.

11. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

12. Your Public/Shared Content

Content you voluntarily share with another user can be saved or re-shared by that user. Even if you delete it, copies may persist in others’ devices or backups. Share carefully.

13. Cookies (Website)

If you visit our website (if/when available), we may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and security. You can control cookies in your browser; some features may not function without them.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App (and/or on our website) and indicate the “Effective date” above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
